The Carnivorous Plant Society is a registered Charity, founded in 1978 with the aim of bringing together all those interested in carnivorous plants, both beginners and experts. Membership is open to all individuals and institutions, both amateur and professional.
Members of The Carnivorous Plant Society have access to the World's leading carnivorous plant seed bank. At any one time we hold a wide selection of seed, including some of the more rare varieties, provided by our members and from suppliers across the world. All current members have a yearly seed allowance and an option to purchase extra packets. We also offer a donors incentive scheme.
Entitlement is for one membership year, from registration to renewal dates, and cannot be carried over to another year.
Seed can only be ordered by members of the society. The seedbank is open only to members of the society. If any non-members attempt to place an order, seeds etc will not be despatched and any money received will be treated as a donation to the society, as we are unable to refund seed bank orders due to fees and handling costs.
Every member is entitled to fourfree packets of seed per membership year and a further two packets can be bought at 50p each (six in all). After this, no more seed can be purchased.
An Extra Seed Packets Scheme is offered to donors, who can claim one extra packet of their choice in return for every two 'different' seed types donated. Every packet in a donation needs to be different. Four packets of binata for instance, will only count as one donation.
Extra seed, GA3 and glassine envelopes should be paid for online via paypal, or by cheque made out to: The Carnivorous Plant Society. Cash will be accepted but is posted at the senders risk. The society holds no responsibility for any cash payments that go missing. Please note all members outside of the UK MUST pay by Paypal.
To order your seed, complete the online order form and either follow the links to paypal or UK members can print the completed form and post it to the address at the bottom of the page, with a self stamped and addressed envelope. Please note you will need to use a large letter stamp on your envelope and SAE. Members from outside of the European union can email me their request and I will send a paypal quote for the seed and postage costs.
We will do our best to post seed within a few days of receiving requests, but please allow 28 days for delivery.
